Domaineering: How To Make Money on the Web

Making Money Parking Your Domains

December 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment

After you create or buy domains, while you’re waiting for someone to pay big bucks to take them off your hands, you can “park” them with a reputable company like SEDO and generate a steady cash flow. SEDO will, for free, set up a web page at your domain’s address, and populate it with advertising links. Every time someone clicks on a link, SEDO pays you.

The variety of domains that can generate several dollars per click is amazing. Domains like CancerDNAtest.com, WhoCanIScrew.com, InsuringYourPets.com, PuntaColonetLawyers.com, SwitchToSnus.com, DarkCircleRemedies.com, PAC10Stats.com, SwitchToSmokeless.com and GoingRougue.com are significant $$ producers. And they’re for sale. Submit your confidential offers to buy any of these domains as a “comment” on this blog.

Leap Into Leptin (LeptinPills.com)

December 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The Journal of the American Medical Association made a lot of headlines this week when it published research showing that higher levels of leptin in the bloodstream resulted in a lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. We jumped at the news and bought LeptinPills.com, which you can buy by submitting an offer as a “comment” on this blog (it will be kept confidential). As we have said before, keep your eyes on the news and buy domains tied to breaking stories that have “legs”, meaning the key words will have strong marketing value long into the future.

Medical Marijuana Cheap @ MedicalMarijuanaCheap.com

November 11, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The Los Angeles Times headline said it all: Medical Marijuana Gets a Boost from Major Doctors Group.” The American Medical Association this week urged the federal government to reconsider its classification of marijuana as a dangerous drug. That’s the 250,000-member AMA basically saying “Legalize pot!” It’s about time.

The smart money says the Obama Administration and the Democratic dominated Congress are going to support legalization. Obama has already ordered federal drug agents not to arrest medical marijuana sellers or users. California has robust state-wide marijuana sales; you have to have a doctor certify that you need it for medical purposes (wink , wink). Twelve other states have similar laws.

It’s time to buy up all the marijuana marketing domains you can think of… like MedicalMarijuanaCheap.com. I’ll sell you that one — submit your offer as a “comment” on this blog. Register your new domains here for under $10.

Follow-up: On November 23, the New York Times reported that “Several Bay Area doctors who recommend medical marijuana for their patients said in recent interviews that their client base had expanded to include teenagers with psychiatric conditions including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.” Talk about a BIG MARKET! Wait until that prescription catches on nationwide!

Cancer DNA Test

November 8, 2009 · Leave a Comment

It’s the newest cancer fad: Send in a sample of your spit, a company analyzes your DNA, and you get a report telling you whether you’re at risk for a particular type of cancer. In theory, you can then take steps to avoid the disease.

For instance, if you’re a smoker, use the Respiragene kit to collect your spit on a swab, mail it to Synergenz BioScience, a New Zealand company, and they’ll tell you whether you’re at moderate or high risk for lung cancer. With that info, you can decide whether to quit smoking, switch to snus or switch to smokeless, or just keep enjoying your cigarettes.

Worried about your chances of getting breast or ovarian cancer? There are DNA tests that look for particular genes that have been shown to increase the risk for those diseases. Recent studies show that women who test positive for one of two genetic mutations have an 85% chance of developing breast or ovarian cancer by the time they turn 70. You’ll have to give a blood sample for these DNA tests.

Keep in mind, these and similar tests for other types of cancer don’t detect the disease itself. They look for signs that you’re at higher risk for getting the disease.

It’s hard to believe, but until yesterday, no one had registered the domain cancerdnatest.com. And  Synergenz, the maker of Respiragene, failed to register LungCancerDNAtest.com. WebtalkerPR grabbed both of those. (You can buy them from WebTalkerPR by making a confidential offer as “comment” on this blog.) But you can still create domains like breastcancerdnatest.com and the like — go to Moniker and create your new domains now for under $10 each.

Couch Potatoes: You’ll Lose Weight, Gain Muscle with “The Exercise Pill”

November 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Now there’s a pill that can turn even a couch potato into a lean and muscular healthy person. The Exercise Pill was developed by Schering-Plough. The company’s version, called AICAR, is not on the market yet, but compounding pharmacies and some chemical supply companies can sell the identical ingredients today without prescription (as long as they don’t make any medical claims for the material).

Mice taking the drug for a month improved their running endurance by a stunning 44%, without a minute of exercise. The mice that took it could run on treadmills nearly one and half times as long as, and faster than untreated animals. Another group of mice that took a companion drug, GW1516, and did a little exercise improved their performance by 70% compared to mice that worked up a sweat but didn’t get the drug.

“It’s a little bit like a free lunch without the calories,” said lead researcher Dr. Ronald Evans of the prestigious Salk Institute. The study, which had the support of the U.S. government’s National Institutes of Health and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, was published in the respected medical journal Cell.

The findings about The Exercise Pill’s remarkable value were entirely unexpected. The drug was actually being developed by Schering-Plough to prevent a complication of bypass surgery.

Professional athletes may already be using a form of The Exercise Pill. Since there’s no way to test for it, yet, there’s no way to know. Dr. Evans says he is working on a test now.

WebTalkerPR is presently using the domain (web address) http://TheExercisePill.com for general advertising purposes, but it is available for purchase. Offers can be submitted as “comment” on this blog; they will not be published (they will be confidential).

Fraud in SnapNames Domain Auctions?

November 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

SnapNames, the largest resale marketplace for domain names by volume, just alerted customers that ”SnapNames discovered that an employee had set up an account on the SnapNames system under a false name and, under this name, bid in SnapNames auctions.”  Expect a flood of lawsuits and maybe a class action.

Mason Cole, vice president of Oversee Corp. Communications, owner of SnapNames, told the Washington Post that as many as 50,000 domain name auctions may have been affected by the employee’s unauthorized activity. SnapNames says bidding affected approximately 5%  of total SnapNames auctions since 2005, most of which occurred between 2005 and 2007.

“Though on some occasions the employee won the auction, in many instances the bidding caused the ultimate auction winner to pay more for a name than had the employee not participated in the auction,” SnapNames writes in its mass email. The company says it will offer rebates to “affected” customers.  More info available from: support@snapnames.com or (866) 690-6279 (toll-free in the U.S.)  and (503) 241-8547 (outside the US).
